Hi there! I'm Beverly, aka Stray Noodles. First and foremost, apart from being a dedicated Christian, I like to think of myself as an artist that paints with words. When I am not writing, I can be found working at one of my many hobbies. I enjoy sewing, crocheting, practicing music on my guitar or harpsicle, or curling up with a good book. I also enjoy creating beautiful bouquets and Barbie clothes for my granddaughters and amateur photography. I am a romantic at heart; the son my father never had; and a Jill of all trades. I have a lot of experiences to fall back on when it comes to writing and ideas.
I’ve plumbed a drain, replaced a tap, door knobs and windows, these were a snap, installed a sub-floor, tiles, and linoleum, my spouse didn't trust I could lay down Congoleum. I'm a beauty school drop out from hairdressing class, a sales clerk, receptionist; I never pumped gas; trucking dispatcher, bus driver too; author, composer, songstress and poet...I hope these lines show it...home-schooling mommy, fish mongering wife; I even flipped pizzas for part of my life. I've managed a shop, 'til my slip and flip flopped, now I'm physically challenged, but my brain goes nonstop.
But seriously though, throughout my many experiences there have been two loves that have remained constant for me, my love of the Lord and my love for the written word. For nine years, I worked as a daycare provider, and my favorite activity with the children was story time. Through it I shared my enjoyment of Dr. Seuss, ‘The Wind in the Willows,’ ‘Aesop’s Fables,’ my favorite nursery rhymes; and my all time favorite children's book ‘The Secret World of Og,’ by Pierre Burton. It was very comforting, to watch my boys curl up on the couch with their noses in a book. Now I have this same joy with my granddaughters.
It still gives me a thrill when I know I have gotten the words in my writing just right. One of the best advantages of being an avid reader is that with every new author my mental dictionary grows. This is one of the many advantages I bring to my own work, and I hope to bring to yours as well. Thank you so for giving me this opportunity to share some of my work and experience with you. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Sincerely, Beverly Campbell
